About Our Instructors
Mrs. Donna Campbell holds a Masters of Science
degree in Art Education and has taught art from Kindergarten through
the college level. She operated her own art school for children for
five years in New York. Currently, she teaches art to grades 1
through 8 at Our Lady of Mercy School in East Greenwich on a
part-time basis.
Mrs. Campbell joined NSG recently and she teaches 2
afternoon classes to students ages 4-9. Her summer camp will
introduce artists to esthetic concepts of sculptural form and space
and expose students to specific tools, techniques and methods of the
sculptural process. Projects include tin work, decorative and
painted paper mache trays, modeling in clay, wood and wire. Painting
with watercolors and acrylics and some drawing with ebonys and
colored pencils will also be explored with various subject matter.
Christa Fischer also teaches 2 classes in the
junior art program at the gallery. Students interact with and
explore a variety of art media in this program. This class provides
a strong foundation in the visual arts with the opportunity for self
expression. Students will build self confidence while learning
classic techniques in drawing, acrylic painting and watercolors.
Each student will receive individual attention while learning to
participate in a group.
“My goal as a teacher is to inspire and instruct your child as
they learn the basics of art. This fun and educational setting is
the perfect way to cultivate the creativity that is within every
child.” -- C. Fischer.
