8th Annual Art Show and Sale
The Nancy Stephen Gallery and School of Art will present the 8th
Annual Art Show and Sale on June 4th and 5th at Crestar
Manufacturing, 51 Liberty St., East Greenwich, RI. Show times are
Saturday the 4th from 1 -6 pm with an opening reception from 1-3 pm.
Sunday hours are 10 am – 4 pm.
Over 70 artists, both adult and youth, will showcase their original
fine art in all mediums including oil, watercolor, pastel and
charcoal. Admission is free and open to the public. Ample, free
parking is available on the premises.

Students from Nancy Stephen Gallery and School of Art were winners at the 2011 Rhode Island Scholastic Art competition. Pictured from left to right: Amanda Goodinson, winner of a Gold Key Award for her drawing "Winding Wheel"; (c) Kara Summerly, winner of a Gold Key Award for her drawing "Escape"; and (r) Katie Lysik, winner of a silver Key Award for her oil painting "Jessy Dances". The ceremony was held at Salve Regina University Antone Center Gallery on January 23rd. Congratulations to Amanda, Kara and Katie.

Doug Ward - 90 Years Young
Doug Ward, 90 years young, is a current student of Nancy Scela’s at the Nancy Stephen Gallery and School of Art.
He recently exhibited 25 of his paintings at his home, The Harborhill Place in East Greenwich. Doug, a RI native, began studying art in 2002, first working in acrylics and watercolors before switching to oils in 2007. His love of the water and boats is evident in many of his works.
His exhibit ran November 3-5, 2010.

7th Annual Art Show and Sale
The Nancy Stephen Gallery and School of Art will present the 7th
Annual Art Show and Sale on June 5th and 6th at Crestar
Manufacturing, 51 Liberty, East Greenwich. The Gallery is proud to
be celebrating 15 years in business in East Greenwich. 70 artists
(youth and adults) will display close to 200 works of original art
in all mediums including oil, watercolor, pastel and charcoal.
Admission is free and open to the public. Ample, free parking is
available on the premises.
This year’s show and sale will run as follows:

In a slow-growth economy like today’s, how does a small art school survive, like the Nancy Stephen on King Street?
“We built our success on reputation,” said owner Nancy Scelsa. “The need is there; otherwise, we wouldn’t be here. We love being here for the community and when you have the right attitude, it multiplies.” Whatever financial condition the state or the country is in, “You’re always going to have the need for fine arts,” she said.....

Art Exhibition and Reception at New Wellness Center in EG
Approximately 20 artists from the Nancy Stephen Gallery and School of Art will be exhibiting over 50 pieces of artwork at the South County Hospital Medical and Wellness Center on Route 2 in East Greenwich. The artwork is for sale and will hang in the building for 3-4 months.
